Design synthesises research insights with business objectives. It is an iterative process where we visualise concepts by sketching, testing, simplifying and re-sketching our concepts with new ideas.

With every iteration, detail and fidelity are added, continuously fine-tuning our designs until we are satisfied that the objectives of the design are achieved.

Platforms

Websites & Software

Customers are not all the same and neither are platforms. We design across Android, Windows, and Apple iOS using branding and interaction guidelines to ensure our designs are fit for purpose. We work with you to ensure your content is structured in a logical manner and users can find what they are looking for.

Balancing user requirements, business requirements, and capabilities is imperative to the success of a product, especially with software. At Objective Experience, we work with you to design a system that can be implemented with your existing technology solution.

Mobile and tablet

Customers are not all the same and neither are platforms. We design across Android, Windows, and Apple iOS using branding and interaction guidelines to ensure our designs are fit for purpose.

Depending on your requirements, we can provide low or high fidelity designs and prototypes where needed. Our user research experience ensures we think about not only the design, but how and where your product will be used as well.

Software

Balancing user requirements, business requirements, and capabilities is imperative to the success of a product, especially with software. At Objective Experience, we work with you to design a system that can be implemented with your existing technology solution.

Whether it is an internal or an external product, we involve stakeholders to create buy-in across the business and design a solution that works for you and your users.

Design Methods

Wireframing

Wireframes visualise ideas, allowing us to test concepts, imagine user interaction, and make design decisions before significant effort is invested.

Wireframes start off as simple sketches. With every iteration, content and detail are added. As a deliverable, they serve as templates and blueprints for building the rest of the design.

Information Architecture (IA)

An intuitive IA helps users find the information they are looking for efficiently. First, we itemise a design’s content and functions. Users then organise and label the items, usually in a card sorting activity. This can be done in-person or online with remote users.

As a deliverable, IA design takes the form of a sitemap (for websites) and a collection of diagrams that communicate how users search for information.

Design studio

An iterative method of solving a problem using group review. It’s fast, flexible, and highly interactive. It generates a lot of ideas very quickly from various perspectives and insights, and allows for open and honest critique of the various concepts.

Design studio involves sketching, presenting, critiquing, and iteration leading to a shared vision of the designs.

Deliverabes & Results

High-level concepts

High-level concepts help us visualise the entire system quickly.

We start off with pen and paper and sketch ideas. These sketches help us tackle the “big rocks” – navigation, flow, and layout. If something does not work, it is much easier (and cheaper) to change our paper sketches than detailed wireframes.

High-level concepts can be created using rapid wireframing tools such as Balsamiq.

Detailed wireframes

Once we are happy with the high-level concepts, we then add detail and fidelity. Detailed wireframes take us a step closer to the final product and help us imagine user interactions.

With detailed wireframes, we move from hand-drawn sketches to pixel-perfect diagrams drawn using powerful wireframing tools such as Axure RP Pro and Balsamiq.

Interactive prototypes

Interactive prototypes look and feel like the final product. We collaborate with our development partners to create prototypes of websites, apps or physical products.

We iteratively fine-tune the prototype based on user feedback and business requirements.

Information architecture

Great designs need to be complemented by findable and logical information structure. We create detailed mapping of how content should fit into the design and what it should be called so it makes sense to the user.
